Immunization Programme is one of the key interventions for protection of children from life threatening conditions, which are preventable. It is one of the largest immunization programme in the world and a major public health intervention in the country. Health department, HMC is providing vaccination to prevent seven vaccine preventable diseases i.e. Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Polio, Measles, severe form of Childhood Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B, Hiaemophilus influenza type b (Hib) and Diarrhea-  (Under the Universal Immunization Programme, Government of India) to all pregnant mother and children upto 16 years attending at UPHCs maintaining national immunization schedule by technically trained vaccinators.

Urban Health and Nutrition Day (UHND) serve  as  a  common platform  to  deliver  maternal,  child  health  care  and  nutrition services  to  the  urban  poor  population  with  the  help  of  the  Auxiliary  Nurse  Midwife  (ANM),  the Anganwadi  Worker  (AWW)  and Health of the Urban Poor ( HUP ) frontline  workers  and  Mahila  Arogya  Samiti  (MAS) members.  It  helps  in  delivering  health  care  services  at  the  doorstep  of  the  unserved  and underserved  urban  population  thereby ,  leading  to  an  improvement  in  the  health  status  of  the urban  poor .
