HMC has started bin distribution in 11 wards in order to start source segregation at household level on 2nd October 2020
On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, HMC has started bin distribution in 11 wards in order to start source segregation at household level (dry and wet waste).
Soon, e-rickshaws driven door to door collection of waste will begin. This will slowly make the fixed vats redundant.
To attract children towards this initiative, two characters – Neelu (blue bin – dry waste) and Pochu (green bin – wet waste) have been designed. The e-rickshaws will also play jingles to attract children towards waste segregation at source.
Slowly this initiative will be rolled out in all wards of HMC.
