GIS Based Scheme & Asset Monitoring System

Howrah Municipal Corporation (HMC) has implemented a GIS based application for monitoring of the existing schemes as well as all existing assets. The application has helped the HMC to collect data from the field through an integrated mobile application and plot the existing assets like local garbage deposit, scheme location, household, solid waste bin, construction project location etc. Daily inspection of the plotted projects/ schemes has helped the department to understand the current situation and in better decision making. Mapping of any new asset can be done dynamically through creation of dynamic form from the application and user can be assigned for mobile mapping. Management can view the scheme/ asset location on map with the progress of the work through reports and dashboard. Monitoring of the existing progress of the work, operational as well as financial reports are now available in real-time in front of the management. HMC has done a major change from their existing workflow, which was mainly offline, and paper based, and is now moving on to online data utilizing which various departments can view the status of their respective assets and schemes with this secured application. Decision making for proper utilization of the resources as well as time and money is now controlled easily. In future HMC wants to integrate this customized application with the existing e-Gov portal for adding more value and finding more specific solution.
